Smithfield, N.C. — Deputies said a domestic dispute led to a stabbing in Johnston County Thursday night.
The stabbing occurred around 9 p.m. in a mobile home park at 3031 Buffalo Road, across from the Landwood Chapel Church. The mobile home park is off U.S. Highway 70 in an unincorporated area between Smithfield and Selma.
Officials said a couple was fighting. When the woman's adult son tried to break it up, the man slashed the son across his throat, stomach and arm, authorities said. The son's injuries were not life-threatening, and the woman was not hurt.
Authorities withheld the people's identities while the initial investigation was under way.
