e-mail print friendly

A 4-year-old girl was killed early Thursday in a house fire in Scotland County, police said.

A Laurinburg woman was home with her two grandchildren when the fire started at about 1:30 a.m., police said. She was awakened by the sounds of the fire and grabbed her 1-year-old grandchild while trying to flee the house, police said.

The woman tried to get to the girl as well, but the house was fully engulfed in flames, police said.

The State Bureau of Investigation was working with local authorities to determine the cause of the fire.

Awww! Praying for his loved ones. Poor little guy!

God bless.

Rev. RB

As a grandmother who often cares for my very small grandchildren, I know it can happen to me, yet I cannot imagine the agony of this family, only because I cannot think about it long enough to feel it as reality might feel. I can only pray for this grandmother, and the parents and all loved ones who share in this loss.

Oh no!! My heart goes out to the family. I have a four year old and I cant even imagine losing her to any tragedy.

gto77.....I'm from Laurinburg too.. I'll call my mom later to find out what she knows about this

This is the second time in about 4 months a child(ren) have died in a house fire in Laurinburg (which happens to be my hometown).
