Police at N.C. State Plan 'Polar Plunge' for Charity

print friendly

The North Carolina State University Police Department will hold its third annual “Polar Plunge” to raise money for N.C. Special Olympics.

Police officers and other plungers who have collected at least $50 in donations will jump into Lake Raleigh on N.C. State’s Centennial Campus at 11 a.m. Feb. 2.

Plungers will receive a T-shirt for participating, and awards will be distributed in a variety of categories, such as best costume, oldest plunger and youngest plunger. After taking the plunge, participants will warm up in a tent stocked with hot food donated by local businesses.

I think Greg Fishel needs to take another polar dip for all the w-r-o-n-g weather forecasts this winter!!!

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the NCSU police force. And the charatable aspect of this event is honorable.

But you have got to be a complete idiot to jump into a lake at the beginning of February. :)

Is the water left on them part of their 35 gallons?

My brother-in-law is one of those Lake Raleigh "crazies"!

That is very cool! (grin)
