Fuquay-Varina, N.C. — A traffic accident killed a 4-year-old child and closed a portion of N.C. Highway 55 in Fuquay-Varina.
A Ford Expedition and Ford Taurus collided at Broad Street/N.C. 55 East and Wilbon Road at about 9:35 p.m. Friday, police said.
A child was killed, but police have not release the victim's name.
Two other children and two adults were transported to WakeMed. Two of the injured were listed in critical condition Sunday night.
A portion of N.C. 55 East was closed while the accident scene was cleared.
The state Highway Patrol was investigating the cause of the accident.
