Durham, N.C. — Police on Friday made their second arrest in two days in the Dec. 29 slaying of 16-year-old Jalani Ferril.
Detectives arrested Stephen Lamar Amos Jr., 17, of East Main Street and charged him with murder, police said. Amos, who was arrested on Elizabeth Street near Dowd Street, was held in the Durham County Jail without bond.
Thursday, police arrested Johnathan Kevin Carter, 21, of Maple Street, was arrested after a tip to Crime Stoppers, police said.
Ferril was found shot on the 100 block of Roberson Street, and he died later at Duke University Hospital.
