Saratoga, N.C. — Skeleton remains found last month in a wooded area of Saratoga have been identified, authorities said Wednesday.
The Department of Anthropology at East Carolina University and the state Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Greenville used dental records to identify the remains as Jose Palemon Lopez, 32. He had been reported missing on June 2, 2006.
The cause of death hasn't been determined, authorities said.
Anyone who might have seen Lopez between May 19, 2006, and June 2, 2006, at or near the Handy Mart in Saratoga is asked to call Lt. Danny Bailey of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office at 252-237-2118.
