Raleigh, N.C. — Drivers headed for I-40 westbound in Raleigh this coming weekend may want to look for an alternative this weekend as state DOT contractors close two of four lanes between the I-40/I-440 split and South Saunders Street.
That is from Exit 301 to Exit 298.
The state Department of Transportation said the lanes would be shut down from 9 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday if the weather cooperates.
The weekend-long closures are in addition to ongoing overnight restrictions.
The state is fixing the road I-40 between Wade Avenue and the 40/440 split in a project that engineers call rehabilitation.
