Asheville — A Cary man, arrested last week in an Internet sex sting in Asheville was once employed at a Wake County YMCA, crime news Web site NC Wanted reports.

Kim Sunsik Kelly, 36, of 306 Rutherglen Drive, is the second person with a connection to the YMCA to be arrested within a 30-day period on to be charged in a child sex abuse case.

Last month, Justin Taylor, 27, a Southeastern Seminary student, was charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. Investigators said the alleged abuse happened during a Jones Dairy YMCA after-school program in Wake Forest in March 2006.

Kelly, who worked for the Southwest Wake YMCA in Apex, reportedly as a youth counselor, was arrested in an undercover investigation by the national Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office statement said he initiated a conversation in which sexual acts were mentioned to a "child." The statement said he allegedly went to a meeting place for the purposes of carrying out those acts, and he was arrested at that site.

Apex police confirmed Tuesday they are assisting in the Asheville investigation.

A YMCA spokeswoman would not verify Kim's position but said he worked at the YMCA for less than 60 days.
