DOT Truck Catches Fire

A state Department of Transportation truck designed to help motorists on interstate highways needed some help of its own Tuesday afternoon.

The yellow pickup truck caught fire about 12:30 p.m. and burned along Interstate 40 near N.C. 751. Flames shot into the sky and black smoke poured from the burning vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

A DOT spokesman said the cause of the fire was not known.

The cause of the fire was probably all that wiring. That thing has strobes galore and that LED directional led sign on the back, alternator probably won't big enough to power all that stuff on it
