Chapel Hill, N.C. — A new traffic pattern took effect Tuesday at what many drivers consider to be the worst intersection in Chapel Hill.
The "Superstreet" project was designed to reduce traffic during peak hours where U.S. Highway 15/501, Europa Drive and Erwin Road intersect.
With the new traffic pattern, drivers can't make left turns at the intersection. Instead they follow elongated loops that take them onto the opposite sides of 15-501, also known as Fordham Boulevard, so they can then make right turns.
