Clinton, N.C. — A mother found dead on her back steps was shot to death, according to a preliminary autopsy released Wednesday.
Beverly Honeycutt, 37, was found dead outside her home at 214 Mathis Rd. near Clinton on Dec. 27.
She lived at the home with her two children, but they were not there at the time.
Investigators said there was no sign Honeycutt had been robbed.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Sampson County Sheriff's Office at 910-592-4141.
