Durham, N.C. — Police were searching Monday for a man charged in a weekend slaying.
Johnathan Kevin Carter, 21, of Maple Street, has been charged with murder in the Saturday shooting death of 16-year-old Jalani Ferril.
Ferril was found shot on the 100 block of Roberson Street. He died later at Duke University Hospital.
Two men were seen running from the scene of the shooting.
Investigators said they don't believe the shooting was random.
