Man Charged With Attacking Teen He Met on MySpace

Fayetteville, N.C. — A Bladen County man was arrested Wednesday on charged he attacked a 14-year-old Fayetteville girl he had met on the social networking Web site MySpace.com.

William Lee Pait Jr., 41, of 138 Juniper St. in Bladenboro, was charged with second-degree kidnapping and taking indecent liberties with a child. He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $500,000 secured bond.

The teen said she met a man on MySpace who said he was 17, authorities said. When she met the man in person on Oct. 27, he tried to force her into his vehicle and began fondling her as she fought to escape, she told authorities.

Pait was previously convicted of indecent liberties with a child and solicitation of a child by computer to commit an unlawful sex act, authorities said.
