Cary, N.C. — The Town of Cary is asking residents to use safe practices with holiday decorations.

Luminarias, also known as luminaries, should be placed on a flat surface away from dry vegetation or anything that can burn. Also, be sure to assign someone to extinguish luminarias at a designated time.

If possible, consider purchasing battery operated or corded luminarias.
