Raleigh, N.C. — A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle at 4206 Wake Forest Road in Raleigh on Saturday night, authorities said.

Jesus Hernandez, 31, of Raleigh, was crossing the road when a Saturn traveling south struck him at 11 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The driver, Veronica Romera, 27, of Raleigh, was not injured.

Police said they believe that Hernandez had been drinking, but are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
