Police: Durham Man Assaults Woman in Apartment

Durham police are asking for the public's help in finding a man accused of breaking into a woman's apartment and assaulting her on Wednesday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are asking for the public's help in finding a man accused of breaking into a woman's apartment and assaulting her on Wednesday.

Police said David Hill, whose last known address was 1411 Sedgefield St., broke into a woman's apartment on Lancaster Street. He assaulted the woman and then stole her vehicle and other property.

Hill fled the scene in the victim's car, a 2001 Blue Subaru Forrester with Pennsylvania tag number DFG-2261. He is also known to frequent the Berkley Street area.

Hill and the victim knew each other, police said. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury; robbery with a dangerous weapon; first-degree burglary, larceny after breaking/entering and motor-vehicle theft.
