Taylortown Mayor Retains Council Seat Amid Criminal Charges

Ulysses Barrett

Incumbent Taylortown Mayor Ulysses Barrett will serve on the town council even though he's facing criminal charges.

Voters placed five people, including Barrett, on the Taylortown Town Council Tuesday. Barrett, who is charged with misdemeanor corruption and fraud, received 164 votes.

Current council member Lonnie Jones Jr., who is also facing criminal charges, lost his bid for re-election.
