Police on Monday released photos of two men wanted for questioning in a September house fire that left one man dead.

Firefighters putting out a house fire at 404 Durant Drive on Sept. 27 found the body of Charles Edward Townsend Jr., 23, inside the home. Authorities have determined that the fire had been set and have ruled Townsend's death a homicide.

Police want to question two men in connection with the fire. They have been photographed by surveillance cameras in local businesses, police said.

The first man was described as black, wearing plaid pants, a white tank shirt and black and white checked Van shoes. He might have an injury to his right hand.

The second man is described as black with a medium complexion, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 150 pounds. He has very short hair, a mustache and possibly a goatee.

Anyone with information about the two men is asked to call Detective T. Bowman or Detective J. Locklear of the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1947 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
