Fayetteville Police Warn of Laptop Thefts

Fayetteville police are warning the public about laptop thefts after 47 were stolen in various parts of the city.

Police do not have a suspect, according to a news release issued Tuesday afternoon, and anyone with information about the thefts should contact the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers, which is offering up to a $1,000 reward, at 910-483-8477.

Authorities remind people to keep their doors to their homes and vehicles locked at all times and not to leave valuable items in view in their vehicles.

They also advise people whose laptops are stolen to change personal identification numbers, passwords and account numbers that might be accessible on the laptop.
