Moore County Trial to Resume After Delay

A murder trial is expected to resume in Moore County this week.

Mario Phillips is charged with killing four men in a home outside Carthage in December 2003.

A 15-year-old girl survived after being shot twice and stabbed 22 times. She testified that Phillips shot her and the four men after demanding money and drugs.

The defense claims Phillips was mentally ill at the time. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

The trial has been on hold while awaiting a witness to arrive from Iraq.
