e-mail print friendly

A jury on Monday cleared a Cumberland County man of all charges in connection with his wife's death three years ago.

Jonathan Forte was accused of beating and stabbing 25-year-old Teresa Forte in August 2004 in her Stedman home. Two of the woman's young children were in the home when her body was found.

Jonathan Forte was tried a year ago in connection with the slaying, but a mistrial was declared after jurors couldn't reach a verdict.

I think the difference between this case and the last is that the jury from the 11-1 trial knew that just becuase the witness was 4 years old at the time of the murder and unable to process and articulate what she saw as well as an adult--doesn't mean she doesn't know what she saw.

God knows what happened that night and the guilty will have to answer to Him.

it was someone who knew her to leave the kids alive. i agree how was it 11-1 guilty to 12-0 not. weird!!!!

This is indeed a strange case. The woman stabbed herself to death...veddy veddy strange.

How does it go from 11-1 guilt last year to 12-0 innocent this year?

i watch lots of shows relating to crimes and sort, hmm crime of passion being stabbed in face that many times. hmmmm......
