Jury Deliberations Under Way In Myron Britt Trial
Jury Deliberations Under Way In Myron Britt Trial

The murder trial for Cary contractor Myron Britt has been delayed again.

Britt is charged with first-degree murder in the August 2003 death of his wife, Nancy Melton Britt, at her sister's home in Lumberton.

Police said he shot the Wake County teacher to collect on an $800,000 insurance policy. Defense attorneys have argued that the couple was happy and that Myron Britt had no motive to kill his wife.

Jury selection had been scheduled for June 25, almost a year after Myron Britt's first trial ended with the jury deadlocked 11-1 in favor of conviction.

There's no word on a new trial date.

Britt faces the death penalty if convicted.
