Wow and to think we didnt PROTECT the dinosaurs. We could all be running for our lives and praying they don't catch up to us. Folks, there are a lot of animals that have gone extinct but the world is a better place without them. Since I don't know the circumstances around the killing of this wolf, I will not say if it is right or wrong. I can say, if one were to come onto my property and threaten my livestock, I would shoot it too. So who knows what really happened.

I wouldn't know the difference between an endangered wolf and a normal wolf! Lets not jomp to the conclusion that this person shot the wolf just for sport. halfpint1552

This is why I said "KNOW YOUR TARGET".

Maybe the wolf was being a threat to someone and they shot it. I wouldn't know the difference between an endangered wolf and a normal wolf! Lets not jomp to the conclusion that this person shot the wolf just for sport.

I respect the fact that the red wolf is on the endangered list, however, I am having a hard time wrapping my head around a year in prison and/or a fine up to $100,000, when people causing deaths because of DUI's can get off with a little probation time. Can someone explain this to me?

hey hans-- when you have a specis at the brink of extinction and you lose another animal thru blatant illegal killing --you tell me? you wana live in a sterile enviroment? maybe no tigers or orangs one day soon? maybe no whooping cranes-- i mean using your logic --whats the big deal? Hans -- i gotta say it -- you're exactly the type o person wildlife does not need for a "friend".

yea i call it a serious crime-- any specis on the verge of extinction -- i call wanton killing a serious crime and further i hope the offender is caught an sent to jail-- for starters.
