Fayetteville man charged with sexually assaulting 11-year-old girl

Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County deputies on Monday arrested a 20-year-old Fayetteville man in connection with the June sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl. 

Leonardo Emmanuel Leon Galvez, of 2622 Cabana Drive, faces two counts of statutory rape, two counts of statutory sex offense, four counts of sexual activity by substitute parent and one count of indecent liberties. 

According to investigators, Galvez assaulted the girl several times between June 16 and July 5 at a home belonging to her relative. 

Galvez was in the Cumberland County jail under a $300,000 bond Tuesday and was expected to make his first court appearance at 2:30 p.m.

Also, I don't understand why it seems like other people can spew the most racist, crude comments they want, including calling people out personally, but no comment I ever make no matter how reasonable seems to make it through the moderation process. So, a bunch of comments by pedophiles about how the victim asked to be raped are AOK by WRAL standards, but a comment pointing out how ridiculous that is isn't published?

To clarify the statute: A 20 year old stepbrother/sister (cousin/aunt/uncle), engages in any of the below listed acts with a minor (under 18) who lives in the house. It's not based on relationship of vic. to perp., but rather custody (authority) over the minor.

Any person in charge of / responsible for the acts of a minor. See Statute Below:

NCGS 14-27.7 "If a defendant who has assumed the position of a parent in the home of a minor victim engages in vaginal intercourse or a sexual act with a victim who is a minor residing in the home, or if a person having custody of a victim of any age or a person who is an agent or employee of any person, or institution, whether such institution is private, charitable, or governmental, having custody of a victim of any age engages in vaginal intercourse or a sexual act with such victim."

young man was or continues to be abused by a member or so called good friend of the family!

Lets keep the focus on the underage 11 year old. She is the victim that was harmed. Stop making excuses for this grown man of 20. Maybe he was abused but that is no excuse to abuse or harm underage girls. I will admit that he do need serious help/counseling or whatever it takes to help him so that he will not do this again.
