An elementary school teacher in Fayetteville was charged Monday with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old, police said.

Bradley Norman Dent, 46, is a teacher at Long Hill Elementary School, but investigators say he didn't meet the alleged victim there.

Dent was arrested Monday at his home in the 7000 block of Lamure Drive and placed in the Cumberland County jail under a $75,000 secured bond.

He faces one count of sex offense involving a juvenile and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

There was no immediate word on whether Dent’s arrest affects his employment status at Cumberland County Schools.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Fayetteville Police Department's youth services division at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS.

There was no immediate word on whether Dent’s arrest affects his employment status at Cumberland County Schools....REALLY???

All it takes is one accusation and his career is over, guilty or not. I have a 15 year old and would certainly be the first in line to condemn him if he’s guilty but I actually discouraged my son from going into teaching for this very reason.

I'm with you Scubagirl, it doesn't matter to me where he met the child. I hope he gets the max and is never allowed to teach or be around any children again, if he's guilty. I understand that the community needs/wants to know where/how he picked the 15 year old. Pedophiles are some of the lowest forms of so called life on earth.

Parents of kids in Fayettevillle, keep better track of your kids!

@Scuba, it matters to the communities and families that are involved... police need to find out where they met and will continue to investigate to ensure there aren't anymore victims.

But overall, it doesn't matter to me, I don't live in fayetteville.
