Fayetteville police probe two sex assaults in two days

Fayetteville, N.C. — Two women reported being sexually assaulted over the weekend in Fayetteville, police said Monday.

Both cases are under investigation.

Police said that a woman got into an altercation with two white men under the Person Street Bridge around 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The men tried to assault her, but she got away.

On Sunday, around 2:20 p.m., a different woman reported being sexually assaulted by two black men near the intersection of North Cool Spring and Meeting streets.

No other information was released.

There are much, much fewer sexual assaults in the Winter than the Summer. Winter can't get here quick enough for Fayetteville. They're having a very bad Summer.

Do any of you who say Fayetteville is a terrible place live here?

I work in Fayetteville and my wifes family is from Fayetteville.It is most definately the armpit of the state.If not for Ft Bragg nobody would work or come to the area.Of all the areas in central NC that I work crime is higher here and the town is just plain nasty.True they are some nices housing developments in the area but the town is horrible does not come close to the level of most other cities in the state its size.Dont blame me blame your city counsel and police dept.

Do any of you who say Fayetteville is a terrible place live here? If you knew the area, you would know that the two places the article refers to are bad parts of the city. Fayetteville has bad areas, just like Raleigh, Charlotte, Durham, Winston, etc. It's not all bad. And it's certainly not the armpit of the state. I can think of worse places to live. And I am female.
