Two shot in Fayetteville

Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating a shooting that injured two people early Monday.

Police said officers responded to Cape Fear Valley Hospital about 3 a.m. after receiving a report of a man and woman being treated for gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as Niesha Spivey, 22, and Sydney Williams, 23.

Police said Tuesday that Spivey and Williams were recovering from their injuries.

An initial investigation revealed the shooting happened in the 300 block of Country Club Drive. The incident remains under investigation.
