Fayetteville, N.C. — Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Thursday afternoon in Fayetteville.
A fight broke out between Marcus Atherton, 36, and several people on School Street before 2 p.m., and Atherton then fled on foot towards Link Street, where he collapsed, police said.
He later died as a result of the blows he received during the fight, they said.
