Raleigh, N.C. — Wrecks on rainy interstates hampered the morning commute in the Triangle Monday. Earlier, a box truck struck a bicyclist on Interstate 40 in Raleigh.
A truck owned by Greensboro-based Direct Link Courier and driven by Kashta Quinn Brandon, 33, of Raleigh, was traveling the speed limit in the right lane right lane of eastbound I-40 shortly after 3:30 a.m. when it hit Marc Anthony Mathis from behind.
Mathis, 44, of Raleigh, was taken to WakeMed, where he was listed in critical condition.
The crash closed two of three eastbound lanes of I-40 between U.S. Highway 1 and Avent Ferry Road until about 6:15 a.m.
No charges have been filed in the collision.
Other wrecks hampered the morning commute throughout the Triangle.
At one point, multi-vehicle wrecks closed lanes of I-40 East, near Interstate 540 in Durham County, and Interstate 440 West, near Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. No injuries have been reported in those wrecks.
Earlier, in Johnston County, where a truck pulled down power lines on U.S. Highway 301, near Interstate 95 in Four Oaks. The entire highway was temporarily shut down, and traffic diverted into parking lots alongside U.S. 301.

Stuff and nonsense. Based on that, there should be no misunderstanding between fellow motorists but, last time I checked, road rage is real. So don't try to make out that in a world free of cyclists, there would be peace and harmony.

And that, my friends, is the very attitude that fuels this debate. What you are condoning is an offense that carries with it 4 points on your license. Get caught doing that 3 times and you're out, which would make our roads one person less safe.
