Woman reports sexual assault in Fayetteville

print friendly

Fayetteville police detectives are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman.

The victim told police a man drove her to the 400 block of Pelt Drive about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, then raped her.

The man is described as black, in his early 40s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a stocky build.

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit said they do not believe the incident is connected to previous sexual assaults in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fayetteville police at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.

Seems if the FPD wanted help they would provide a little bit better description and information on the car. So much information missing.

@charmcclainlovesdogs2: uuuuh...do you know what consensual actually means? i don't think you do...and most of the time w/ these sorts of cases where no one has been convicted of the crime yet, its not a good idea to inform the general public of every little aspect of the event....and why are most of your questions implying that the woman was lying? those sorts of things shouldn't be the first question you ask when you hear that someone, among many others in the same area lately, has been sexually assaulted...normal people usually sympathize w/ the victim and hope the details come to light and then are surprised if it turns out the woman was less than honest...not assuming the worst from the beginning.

This is what happens when you have an incompetent police force. Crime of all types takes place and the criminal element ends up running the town.

They'll be searching in the dark for the serial rapist for the next 10-15 years.

Was it rape or was it consensual? Did the woman tell the truth? How did she get into the vehicle? Was she force or did she get in the vehicle on her on accord?

Did he force her into the vehicle?
