Fayetteville police on Tuesday arrested a man wanted in connection with a hit-and-run accident last month that killed a 43-year-old pedestrian.

Detectives identified Daniel Eugene Hall Jr., 18, of the 7800 block of Cedar Creek Road, as the driver in the July 29 accident that killed Dwight Donald Fredricks.

Authorities said Fredricks was taking his morning walk about 5:30 a.m. when he was struck and killed by a white Nissan sedan on Cedar Creek Road.

Detectives on Tuesday secured warrants charging Hall with felony hit-and-run. The suspect turned himself in the same day.

He was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

I commend this young man for finally stepping up. My son was killed in a hit and run on Aug.26,2011 in Sampson Co. No one has come forward in his case. At least this family will get answers as to what happened. My family knows nothing. It takes guts to admit you did wrong. A coward admits nothing!

The bond is set base a lot of things, but, in this case I still consider it too low.

good work by the cops here it seems. unless someone ratted him out? really doesnt say. Was definetly a poor decision of character leaving someone to die.

10,000 dollar unsecured bond. What gives he killed a person, took off, and only turned himself in because he knew they were coming after him. My prayers to the family of Mr Fredricks.

The headline makes it seem like he willingly turned himself in, not that he did it after he got charged with it.
