Raeford, N.C. — A pizza delivery driver who was beaten and robbed last week was released from a hospital on Wednesday.
Tyler Joseph Lloyd, 19, delivered an order placed online to the 1600 block of O'Bannon Drive in Raeford last Friday night and was beaten with a baseball bat and robbed by two men, authorities said.
Deputies found Lloyd unconscious in his car on Clan Campbell Drive after co-workers at the Domino's Pizza at 7082 Fayetteville Road in Raeford called for help.
His family released a statement Thursday asking that he be allowed to recuperate in private.
"As Tyler continues to recover from his injuries, we would like to thank the many who have supported our family during this time," the statement said. "We're deeply grateful to all of the medical professionals who have worked so hard to get Tyler back on his feet, and we also thank the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office for their efforts in finding those responsible for the attack. We ask for your continued prayers in the days ahead."
Juan Foronte McPhaul, 30, of 217 Springer Drive in Raeford, was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
More arrests are expected.

Exactly,he should be locked up for the rest of his life.No bail no probation no parole, the vermin that murdered Eve Carson were on probation at the time of that awful crime.Neither had checked in with their probation officer for weeks and nothing was done, thanks to Durham Co. and their complete lack of responsibility. The result was the murder of a UNCCH's student body president,a incredible woman, leader and inspiration to all.
