Dog chases bear into Sanford tree

print friendly

Sanford police say a dog chased a bear into a tree Wednesday morning near the local Division of Employment Security office.

A police spokesman said workers heard the dog barking, and when they looked, they saw the bear climbing into a tree near the intersection of Lee Avenue and Horner Boulevard.

The bear came out of the tree shortly before 10:30 p.m. and ran into the woods, a Lee County wildlife official said.

Eye sore is right, even after the man DIED in that WRECKHOLE it still stands

poor bear =-( I'm sure he was scared

What are you talking about ignoring the issue? What do you want them to do kill it? They are doing what they are supposed to do, and that is leave it alone, and make sure the bear and people are safe.

They wanna ignore the issue just like they ignore every other problem in the area (I.E. Southside Plaza that was hit by the tornado in 2011 and remains a huge eye sore to this very day)

Sanford_27330 How could anyone in their right mind blame the police for, “wanting to keep an eye on the situation”? ncsuwolfs And, who wouldn’t expect the police to be somewhat rude for telling adults to stay away from the area. I’m sure every rubbernecker in Sanford has poked their head in to check out the situation and offer up advice to local law enforcement. It’s a bear, in a tree…go home people!
