A probationer awaiting trial on weapons charges faces fresh charges in connection with the robbery of a Fayetteville fast food restaurant on Thursday.

Around 9 p.m., a man dressed in all black and carrying a gun took money from a Wendey's at 2903 Raeford Road. He left in a white Dodge Avenger.

A short time later, police stopped that car on Marlborough Road, near Skycrest Drive, and a man jumped out of the car and ran. Police caught him after a short foot chase and recovered the stolen money and the gun used in the robbery.

Michael Devonte Hill, 19, of the 5300 block of Mesa Court, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and conspiracy. He was placed in the Cumberland County jail under a $50,000 secured bond.

Bryan Timothy, 26, of the 700 block of Hilton Drive, was charged with felony conspiracy and given a $5,000 secured bond. Police said he was in the Dodge Avenger when officers stopped it.

In addition to the charges stemming from the Wendy's robbery, Hill is awaiting trial on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying an illegally concealed gun and possession of marjiuana, police said.

He was given three years' probation for 2010 convictions for five counts of felony breaking-and-entering and one count of larceny after breaking-and-entering, according to state Division of Adult Correction records.
