Fayetteville police ID one suspect, seek others in fatal shooting

Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville police released four surveillance images on Wednesday showing several men who are suspected of shooting two people Tuesday afternoon.

They identified one of the men as Stanley Armando Generette, 30, who has listed addresses on Walker Street and Kaywood Drive.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Generette on first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and robbery with a dangerous weapon charges, police said.

He was not in custody as of Wednesday evening.

Around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, two men were shot between two businesses on Ramsey Street, and one of the victims died from his injuries.

Shukri Al Gahim was inside his tobacco store, near the intersection with Rosehill Road, when he heard "a lot of gunshots." Then, he said, one of the victims came into his store looking for help.

"He was shot two times. He came in and ran behind the counter," Al Gahim said.

The other victim tried to flee in his car, but crashed a short time later.

I don't think that the comments on this story are racist. The comments are about the the violence and deaths that these young men cause by their actions. It just so happens that the majority are black.

What's perhaps more unfortunate is the fact that so much of the violent crime is done by black people in NC and such a large percentage of those arrested every day are black, while black people are the minority. That's not a racial comment, but a statement of fact.

I agree the racist undertones are unfortunate, but when you see stories like this in the news all the time and when you see that 68.75% of those arrested in Wake County on Aug 1 were black, what do you expect?

The act in this story demonstrate a total and utter disregard for human life.

This is truly, truly heartbreaking. Seems like about once a month or so, when I want to see the news from back home (I live in Minnesota now), I see someone I grew up with either murdered, wanted, or arrested. Stan was a quiet kid, devout christian, or so I thought. It's also pathetic to see that the thinly veiled racist comments still poison this comments area and North Carolina as a whole like a spiders venom. So glad I left that please

devilpride...IT's important to read the amendment. It actually states that the GOVERNMENT can not INFRINGE on the right to bear arms. The right is and has always been there and the amendment states that the government can not take that away. Thats a very important distinction.

I think that first guy pictured actually walked into my office yesterday afternoon looking for help working on a cell phone??? I'm in downtown Fayetteveille. Note to criminals, we are a gun supporting and carrying company.
