Dunn, N.C. — A Smithfield family was reunited Sunday with its 7-year-old Labrador-German shepherd mix after the dog went missing from a Dunn veterinary clinic last week.
Kim Croonquist says she boarded Ewok at Vets for Pets on July 4, but when she went to pick the dog up, she found out it was missing. Croonquist said she believes Vets for Pets was negligent.
Dr. Guy Beretich, who runs Vets for Pets, said Ewok fought to escape from the kennel the night before the family returned.
Staff members found the dog Sunday behind the clinic.
Beretich is currently appealing the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board's ruling that he surrender his license after investigators found what they called "evidence of incompetence."

Where was he the rest of the time. Did the folks not bother to check around the area. It sure sounds suspicious. Don't believe it for one minute
Where I live he would have been picked up for loitering.
At least Ewok is back home. Now get the sleay Dr's license revoked
