Fayetteville, N.C. — A woman and her child were safe in Fayetteville Friday afternoon after a domestic incident that began in Hoke County, authorities said.
A man armed with a shotgun took his girlfriend and their child from Hoke County, Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said. The woman was able to escape from the car in Fayetteville and called for help.
Police traced the car to the Cambridge Arms Apartments complex, off North McPherson Church Road, Peterkin said.
The child was later reunited with its mother, but police decided not to file any charges against the man after talking with him inside an apartment at the complex.
Peterkin described the incident as a domestic situation that got out of hand.

Absurd!!!
How much someone want to bet we'll be hearing about this guy again in the near future, and that he's either hurt someone or seriously tried to.
The cops shouldn't have left it at that - not when there was a child and a gun involved.
