Fayetteville police found drugs and a gun in a home in the 400 block of Brandermill Road Wednesday after receiving complaints from nearby residents about suspicious activity.

Officers arrested Vertee Pressey, 26, of the 1400 block of Boss Drive, and Ricky Speller, 30, of the 400 block of Brandermill Road, after finding marijuana, a rifle, drug manufacturing material and money in the home.

Both men were charged with possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana and maintaining a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance. Speller was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pressey was held on a $5,000 secured bond. Speller's bond information was not available.

"Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department would like to thank members of the public for contacting police with their concerns," police said in a statement.

Residents wishing to report suspicious activity can call 911 in emergencies or 433-1529 for non-emergencies. Anonymous tips can also be left with Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS (8477).

Move everyone out of North Dakota, build a 100 foot high, electrically charged fence that causes instant death. Then put ALL criminals inside, with weapons, and let them decide as to whether or not to begin to govern themselves or simply kill each other.

Drug manufacturing material? What? Some soil and sunlight? How big was this operation?

OVERCROWDING KEEPS Bail Money low, and this way the cops can keep chasing them!! My Comment from a few days ago on ~Wayne fruit stand alleged to be front for drug deals~Overcrowding of all jails nc wide is something people seem to forget. They will be out no less then 2 weeks MARK MY WORD!! They only maintain housing on people whom are felons or upset the officers in some way. But Child support does not lock em up and many other offences are released to soon because of OVERCROWDING. Which is why I say BUILD UP,UP, UP and lock em all away! That why they believe we Actually have a 'system'

$5000 ? They probably have that in their pocket from the last sale.

It's good to see a comunity stand up and report their enterprise. Maybe some other bussiness men will use a little more brains and just decide it's not worth it. It's hard to imagine fools who don't even think other may notice would be able to keep up with the proceeds anyway. Sheesh!!
