Two men accused of stabbing a man several times and then robbing him at gunpoint in April were arrested over the weekend, Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said Monday.

Dean Austin Stocks, 21, of Raeford, was arrested Saturday and charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. He was being held in the Hoke County jail under a $400,000 secured bond.

Glen Edward Maynor, 16, also of Raeford, was arrested Sunday and faces the same charges. He was being held at the jail under a $500,000 secured bond.

Both men made their first court appearances Monday.

Peterkin said deputies were dispatched to the area around Scurlock School and Rockfish roads in Raeford on April 22, where they found Abundio Reyes Hernandez with multiple stab wounds to the torso.

Hernandez told investigators that the robbers approached him and immediately began stabbing him. Once he fell to the ground, one of the men displayed a shotgun and demanded money.

The men then forcibly stole money from Hernandez and fled on foot.

How unfortunate that these young men have totally ruined their lives and the life of the victim. These guys will do a few years in prison and they will be back out looking for another victim while still collecting welfare, food stamps and government subsidized housing. Who needs a job?

There goes the gun control theory. If these guys don not have access to a gun the revert to a knife. They are proven to violent criminals. Lock them up and throw away the key before they manage to kill someone.

How unfortunate that these young men have totally ruined their lives and the life of the victim. All because they choose to TAKE money that they did not earn rather than earn their own money the right. It's pitiful and shameful that human beings can disregard the life of others. I wonder why the bond of the 16 year old is $100k higher than the 21 year old and they are charged with the same crimes.
