RALEIGH, N.C. — A funeral service for the late state Rep. William Wainwright has been set for Saturday.
The service will be held at noon at Grover C. Fields Middle School, 2000 Martin Luther King Blvd., New Bern.
Interment will follow at R.E. Whittington-Godette Cemetery in Havelock.
Wainwright, who died Tuesday at the age of 64, rose to the post of House speaker pro tempore.
Gov. Bev Perdue has ordered flags remain at half-staff until his interment.
