Coats man killed in house fire

Coats, N.C. — Harnett County authorities and the State Bureau of Investigation are investigating a fire that killed a Coats man Wednesday morning.

Firefighters found the Mark McGill, 47, inside the house, at 191 S. Ida St., around noon after someone driving by called 911.

Investigators wouldn’t say Wednesday afternoon what they think might have caused the fire.

Family members, who live on the same street, gathered outside the house Wednesday, waiting for information about what might have happened.

They did not want to comment.

I heard this on my scanner this morning and heard them call the ambulance shortly after arriving on the scene. Praying for this man's family.
