Durham police said Friday that they arrested a man accused of robbing a convenience store twice within three days and, in a separate incident, beating a man with a wooden cane.

Ervin Purcell Moore, 41, whose address was not known, faces a number of charges stemming from the alleged crimes.

The convenience store robberies happened at Shell, at 106 W. Main St., on June 30 and July 2.

During the June 30 robbery, police said, the robber put something against the back of the clerk's head and took cash from the store register.

On July 2, the same man, threatened to shoot the clerk, took money and the clerk's cellphone.

The accusation involving the cane happened June 26 on Holloway Street. Police said that Moore allegedly took cash and a phone from the victim.

Moore faces four counts of armed robbery, one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, one count of first-degree kidnapping and one count of public consumption of alcohol.

He was in the Durham County jail Friday under a $2.25 million bond.
