Fort Bragg was given the all clear Wednesday night after authorities determined a report of suspicious chemicals was unfounded.

Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum said authorities received a call about 7 p.m. that a suspicious chemical was at Randolph Pointe apartments, located on the base.

He said some residents were evacuated as a precaution while a hazardous materials teams search the area. Nothing was found and the all clear was given about 8 p.m.

McCollum said no arrests were made immediately following the incident, which remains under investigation.
