A Dudley man is facing murder charges in the death of his 4-month-old son, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday.

Investigators said they arrested Brandon Pemberton, 21, of 115 Rhodes Drive, after he confessed to the crime.

Emergency crews responded to Pemberton’s home May 31 and found the infant, whose name was not released, unresponsive. The child was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy ruled out death from natural causes or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The boy’s parents were being interviewed by investigators when Pemberton confessed, police said. They did not release details of the confession or information on how the child died.
