Customer shoots Goldsboro store robbery suspect

A customer walked into a robbery going on in a convenience store early Tuesday and shot the suspected robber, Goldsboro police said.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A customer walked into a robbery going on in a convenience store early Tuesday and shot the suspected robber, Goldsboro police said.

Police said a man with a handgun came into the Kangaroo Express, 901 W. Grantham St., around 3 a.m. and tried to rob a female employee. The male customer shot the robber once.

The robber was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and then flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Police said they have not been able to positively determine his identity.
