Raleigh police have charged a man in connection with a bank robbery that happened Monday afternoon.

Sean Elliot Whitaker, 42, was arrested Tuesday morning on a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say a crime tip concerning his whereabouts led them to a motel on Glenwood Avenue, where Whitaker was taken into custody.

Investigators say he robbed the Wells Fargo branch at 3500 W. Millbrook Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. Although police say he never showed a weapon, he implied in a note to a teller that he had one.

..."Poor sap... he should have devised an elaborate ponzi scheme and defrauded people millions of dollars. He'd be looking at less time in prison...."

OR...he could have NOT paid his taxes and Nomobama would have selected him for a cabinet position...or he could have been a democrat elected to congress...LOTS of career opportunities in the "enlightened" party...!!!!

Banks sure do hate it when people steal money they've stolen from others.

OR he could campaign for the presidency and filter money out of rich supporters and get off scott-free.

ChelsWCU1224, I agree.. I bet he didn't even make off with much.. but that doesn't really matter anymore since hes caught.. It'll cost him a lot more now.

People need to stop robbing banks and GET A JOB!
