Hope Mills police are searching for three men who robbed Diamonds & Gold jewelry store in the Millstone Shopping Center Monday afternoon.

Police have identified one of the suspects as Stanley Sims Jr., 30, of 5300 Bayleaf Dr. in Fayetteville. The identities of the other two men are unknown.

The men drove to the store in a silver Dodge Charger, police said, and one man stayed in the car while the other two went into the business around 12:30 p.m. Once inside, the two masked men threatened to break the glass jewelry cases with a hammer.

After stuffing the jewelry into pillow cases, the men sped away into the LaFayette Village residential area and crashed into vehicles, mailboxes and a fence post, police said. The passengers then jumped out of the car and ran into the LaFayette Village area, while the driver hid the vehicle in the Holiday Park area.

Police released the following descriptions of the three men:

  • Black man, about 30 years old, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, wearing a white, long-sleeve top, dark, long pants and dark shoes.
  • Black man, appeared to be younger than 30, 5 feet 5 inches tall, about 125 to 150 pounds, wearing a dark top and dark shorts.
  • Black man, about 40 years old, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, wearing unknown clothing.

Police said they believe the three men live in the LaFayette Village area and the area of Holiday Park. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Hope Mills Police and speak with Detective J.K. Hamilton at 910-429-3385.

The third generation is now receiving these benifits and the only way it will ever stop is for the government to cut off the money. That will never happen because is would not be PC. God help this country.

When did men start wearing "tops"? It's called a hoodie.

I have never understood why it is PC to not tell the public what someone looks like that robs a bank or store. Are we that stupid?
