Man found dead at I-95 welcome center
Northampton County authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Friday morning at the welcome center on Interstate 95.
Posted — UpdatedAn attendant for the center, just south of the Virginia state line, found the body in a parked car at about 8 a.m., Sheriff Wardie Vincent said.
The car had a South Carolina license plate and appears to have been parked at the center for a couple of days, Vincent said.
Investigators are treating the case as a suspicious death, Vincent said, and the body has been sent to a medical examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Authorities haven't released the man's name.
