A Raleigh firefighter was charged with driving while impaired Wednesday after police say she caused damage to six vehicles in an overnight crash.

Police say Shannon Lee Haeck was driving on Mellow Field Drive, off Six Forks Road, around 3:15 a.m. when she lost control and struck six vehicles parked on the street.

No one was injured.

Haeck has been a Raleigh firefighter since Sept. 10, 2001.

amen - not my real name

@White Devil..to say "firefighters are all crooked." Really?? What proof do you have to make such a blanket statement? That is one of the most ignorant things I have ever read.

emtp2k, are you trying to borrow a page from the military? PTSD is not prevalent in emergency services, sorry. Most I know with issues simply possess the inability to cope. As much as some administrations try to convince otherwise, we do not get shot at or assaulted on an hourly basis. Everyone who knows Shannon knows her love of the party lifestyle. It just finally caught up with her.

Slap on the wrist and she'll keep her job. I said it before and I'll say it again . . . firefighters are all crooked. White Devil June 21, 2012 1:49 p.m.

Why would she be fired? If yuo got a DWI would you be fired?

Rule #1: drink at home.
