Lumberton police officer arrested on drug charges

Lumberton, N.C. — Authorities arrested a Lumberton police officer last week and charged him with attempting to traffic opium.

Jason Walters was taken to the Robeson County Jail, where he was given a $20,000 unsecured bond.

No other information was released.

Its a shame that the ones who are supposed to be protecting you are helping to put drugs on the streets....it hasnt been that long ago that they busted a whole slew of bad cops in lumberton, http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/3070242/ it all comes down to them wanting to make a dollar........

I for one have had one traffic citation in my entire life. It was about thirty years ago for expired inspection. I do not form my opinions because of past experiences but by observation. If it quacks like a duck, has a bill like a duck, has webbed feet like a duck and swims like a duck I call it a duck. Have I said enough.
